{•} On the initiative of India, the United Nations declared International Yoga Day on 21 June.
{•} Out of 193 member countries of the United Nations, Yoga Day was celebrated on 21 June 2015 in 192 countries.
Yemen, which does not have an Indian embassy, remained the only country where it was not organized.
{•} Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself commanded the main event on the Rajpath in New Delhi, the capital of India, where 35,985 people from 84 countries practiced and recorded two world records in the Guinness Book.
{•} The event organized under the aegis of the Ministry of AYUSH, besides the Prime Minister, Lt. Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Yoga Guru Ramdev and Yoga Minister Shripad Yashonike also participated.
{•} Diplomats from most countries, including US Ambassador Richard Verma, made an appearance at a yoga practice on Rajpath. Along with this, Yoga Day was celebrated in all the major cities of the country.
{•} In Palampur in Himachal Pradesh, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader LK Advani practiced yoga.
{•} Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Lucknow, BJP President Amit Shah in Patna, and Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Nagpur, Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda in Hyderabad, Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar in Meerut, Human Resource Minister Smriti Irani in Shimla, Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in Kolkata, Urban Development Minister Vekayya Naidu in the first International Panchayats in Chennai Participated in an event organized on Industry Day.
{•} The conference held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi was attended by representatives from 36 countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Malaysia and many Muslim populated countries.
{•} On the occasion of the first International Yoga Day, the Prime Minister also released two commemorative coins and a commemorative post.
{•} On the Yoga Day, the program was organized by the External Affairs Minister of India, Sushma Swaraj.
{•} Yoga Day Digital in Pakistan was confined to the Indian High Commission campus. Where the staff of the Commission and other foreign diplomats in the country practiced.
{•} UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed his excitement on the first International Yoga Day during his meeting with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at the New York inauguration and said that this day has got unprecedented enthusiasm across the world.
